Fred and JRI Recordings are pleased to announce the release of “Rachmaninoff, Addinsell, Saint-Saens.” Five years in the making, this recording contains three great Romantic piano concertos. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18 has inspired millions, including Richard Addinsell, who wrote his incredibly beautiful Warsaw Concerto as a tribute. The CD finishes with Saint-Saens’ Piano Concerto No. 4 in C Minor, Op. 44, a perfectly crafted showpiece for piano and orchestra, combining sparkle with solid music-making.
What makes this recording unique is the orchestra. Created entirely inside a computer by English musician Stephen Ware using a technology called “sampling.” We believe this is the first complete album of major standard orchestra repertoire using this revolutionary system. The sound is realistic and rich, and at times even surpasses a human orchestra in precision and detail – one of those few examples where technology exhibits soul, excitement and emotion. “Rachmaninoff, Addinsell, Saint-Saens” is now available for digital download from JRI Recordings, and a CDBook version will be available on December 12th, 2015.
