Last week Fred was at WGBH studios in Boston recording this favorite concerto. Except here, there was no orchestra. Fred recorded the piano part alone. Now, Stephen Ware will “wrap” the orchestra around the piano. Stephen is a specialist in creating “sampled” orchestras. Using all kinds of soft- and hardware, he pieces together tiny recordings of instrumentalists playing single notes on their instruments, a pain-staking process that results in a full symphony orchestra! This recording will be released by the record label Music Minus One. Due out in late spring.
